March 14 :
For this project, since I live in an area that is still frozen and covered with snow and has limited water source options, I have chosen to take the path of emerging sense of togetherness. My ideation on my concept stems form being a natural introvert, who has always and still always enjoys time with myself and my daughter. I dread outings and social gatherings, and avoid them as much as possible. For us, during the time of COVID, we were able to still see close family on a consistent basis, so to be honest, not that much changed for us. I was happy to no longer need to decline invitations to hang out with people or feel the pressure of socializing more with immediate family.
That being said, there were times of loneliness and restlessness that did kick in for us, not being able to visit with my best friend, not being able to venture out to the library or swimming pool… those moments we did feel the isolation of Covid.
However, there were some positives for us, which I have focused on in this photo story, we have been able to spend more one on one bonding time. I have been able to fit in a bit more self-care and focus on nutrition. I chose to enroll in this program – for self growth – due to the extra time lockdowns “gave” us to our daily routines.
We were comfortable with our lives, and now – and now the mandates are lifted and people are eager and excited to start socializing…. And I …. Well I am not ready to disrupt the peaceful balance we have created with our lives over the last couple of years……

Theme:
Emerging Forms of Togetherness
Outline of project:
Concept/idea: positive household/personal outcomes of covid/ weary of upcoming changes to “go back to normal” that may affect these positive routine changes
Production approach (methods & processes): will outline ideal shots to capture theme, and attempt snapping when time permits. Will define a photographic style once I have a few shots to determine. Perhaps black and white or golden background with certain color popping images. Or perhaps just toning image to one tone and keeping it simple. Unsure at this point. Will attempt to incorporate principles once have a some test shots done.
Timeline: Photo taking week of March 7th , then edits and write ups per timeline provided.
Shot List:
lead/opening image:
Informative/transistional images(foundation):
In-depth images(body of essay)
Closing images(leaving impression)
Site tools: Canon & tripod
Site: Likely home
Losing acceptable solitude
1- empty chair across from me, tea on table, and journal/study list. Focus on chair – as in – someone used to be here to visit for tea.
2- meal prep/planning/nutrition research – homemade cooking
3 – bath masks self care relax night yoga
4 – pic with facetime calling log on phone while cozied up
5 – movie night w. kid & or dancing around having fun – time on family
6 – self growth/focus/mental health or education
7 – End – mask on ground (road/deck) –party invite crumbled up beside mask – it’s over – as in I don’t want to leave my bubble – I like not having the pressure of attending events!

For all of my edits iI used auto in LRC and adjusted the shadows/highlights slightly as needed then I took them into photoshop and added a tint with the yellows – most sat around 143 but some were lower depending on the image. Then I took the paint brush and painted over the chosen areas to reveal the colors. They came out over saturated colors but i decided to leave them as so.
